Indonesia Marine Offshore Expo (IMOX) 2024, the largest maritime exhibition in Batam, was held again at the Radisson Hotel Batam from July 31 to August 2, 2024. 200 participants from 30 countries attended the expo, where they exchanged ideas and collaborated to support the latest maritime innovations.

Chairman of the Batam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Jadi Rajagukguk, said that the seventh IMOX exhibition had 130 more participants than the previous year.

"IMOX 2024 is proof of how important the role of the maritime industry, especially shipyards, in the global economy, Plus, Indonesia has tremendous maritime potential," he said after opening the event on Wednesday (31/7/2024).

IMOX 2024 provides an opportunity for potential investors and partners to see how Batam's maritime industry is developing rapidly. "The shipyard industry is the second largest after electronics, so it is time for the domestic ship industry to go global." Therefore, this exhibition provides momentum for industry players to continue to innovate and work together to strengthen Indonesia's position in the shipping and maritime industry.

In addition, Kenny Wong, CEO of Fireworks Trade, Media Group stated that IMOX 2024 will be a place to share information and cooperate with global maritime companies and with other supporting sectors.

Kenny mentioned a transaction target of US$ 20 million for this exhibition. "We are optimistic that transactions during IMOX 2023 will reach the target of US$ 20 million, with approximately 5,000 visitors," he concluded.
